Our table

Hospitality is the first course

From our home in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, we serve traditional Ethiopian and Eritrean cooking made entirely with the freshest ingredients. Here, food is more than a meal — it is a way of being together. Traditionally, everyone shares one platter with family and friends, eating by hand as we do back home, which makes the whole experience wonderfully unique.

Come and enjoy the taste of Ethiopia in Copenhagen. Browse our full menu, book a table or order takeaway — we look forward to welcoming you to our cosy restaurant, cooked with a focus on sustainability.

The coffee ceremony

ቡን ማፍላት

Three rounds, one afternoon

The coffee ceremony is an integral part of social and cultural life in Ethiopia and Eritrea. An invitation to attend a coffee ceremony is considered a mark of friendship and respect. Performing the ceremony is almost obligatory in the presence of a visitor, whatever the time of day.

Green beans roasted at your table, ground by hand, brewed in the jebena and poured three times — abol, tona, baraka.
